² Then Azariah son of Hoshaiah and Johanan son of Kareah and all the proud and insolent men said to Jeremiah, You are not telling the truth! The Lord our God has not sent you to say, Do not go into Egypt to dwell there temporarily.

Azariah (Az-ar-eye-a): he that hears the Lord
Egypt (Ee-jipt): that troubles or oppresses; anguish
Hoshaiah (Hohz-shah-ya): the salvation of the Lord
Johanan (Yoh-ha-nan): who is liberal or merciful
Kareah (Ka-ree-a): bald; ice
